What's in your............ Fridge?

So this is meant to be for fun. No judgement of any kind!


When we interview culinary students and talk with our new hires we have several fun questions to ask. This is one of them. If this goes over well I may put up others later. Again this is for fun......


Question:
If I was to go into your fridge, at any given time what 3 things will I always find in it?



My answer is:
Bacon/bacon fat
Whole unsalted butter
Cheese
For extra credit: mustard (not yellow)

So what's in your fridge?
 
Kitchen fridge: Can of bacon fat, baking powder, worchestershire. Dijon mustard for vinaigrette. Woohoo I get extra credit!

Back mini fridge: empty box of beer, open box of beer, full box of beer.

Cure fridge: brine ready to go, something curing, something defrosting to get cured or smoked.

Just three things? :icon_eek:

I'll list three of the most used things that are always in there.

Homemade Butter
Homemade Mayonaisse
Homemade Sausage or Bacon (of one type or another)

Extra Credit: Homemade Ketchup and Mustard.

Pure maple syrup

Homemade English muffins

Brown eggs from my own chickens

I almost forgot....a least 4 kinds of homemade jams, apricot, strawberry, rhubarb, plum, and mixes

I see the point of the question, and being as it was posted for fun, I figured more "household chefs" would chime in on this one.

I'm just wondering why only 3? I keep at least 6 staples (well not exactly staples, but basics I need) in my fridge.

I am actually shocked there have not been more replies as well.

I actually have fun asking this in interviews and meet & greets. They come in ready to answer questions on how to do this or what is this. Then you hit them with what 3 things are always in your fridge. It is kind of funny to see them squirm and try to find what they feel is the answer we are looking for. The best part is, anything is good. We just want to see how you think when a curve ball is thrown at you. In catering you are always getting things thrown at you and you have to be ready for anything.



So........ What's in your fridge?
 
Guess I have another fridge too - The little one in my shop always & without fail has beer & shine & usually water...
