Anyone have anything special they want to share? For me it's Fetzer Gewurtztraminer. When I had just turned 18 I volunteered to buy the wine for the family Christmas dinner. I went into Chevy Chase Wine and Beverage (no, not the actor. It's named after the150 year old village on the border of DC and Maryland in which it resides) and they were having a tasting. Elated at the prospect of free wine, I stepped right up. They handed me a taster of the Fetzer and a piece of turkey. They tasted great together to me, so I bought few bottles. Ever since then I've always had a nostalgic tug to get that same wine from that same store for Holiday meals. Here 30 odd years later It's still extremely drinkable, pairs well with turkey (ESPECIALLY smoked turkey) and is still $12 a bottle.

Happy Friday Andrew, & Martin! What great stories!

I drank a Whitehall Lane red blend with my lunch yesterday, "Tre Leoni" is the name of it and that was nice alongside my smoked bunny broth that had duck bacon in it and was sensational!

THEN, like a silly bunny myself, I opened The 7 Deadly Zins later in the day, and drank most of that in tandem with an enormous platter of some oiled and seasoned haricot verts that were terrific!

Today, while my head feels a little like it has been mashed through a garlic press; I will most likely seek out a dry Gavi (white) to pair with pasta and mussels.

CHEERS! - Leah
