what to do with a 2.18 pound eye roast...

    looking for suggestions of what to do with a 2 pound eye of round roast...its a good looking piece of meat...i am googled out...

    part of me wants to partly freeze it and slice it for cheesesteaks...

    smoke it...of course...i have some oak left...

    foil wrapped in oven for the the deep pit effect...

    slice for steaks???

    never used this cut before...it was cheap...and who doesnt like a nice roast to have options with?

    I would turn it into Pastrami.

    Jerky would be my choice.
  5. Yep, what he said!! I've been using eye of round for jerky for quite some time. Mmmmmmmm Good!!

    I smoked one a while back and sliced it for sammies mmm it was good, also had some open roast beed style ones too. Now I am thinking of doing that again

    Ditto here. I'd look back and use a teriyaki recipe someone posted a little while back. It's great.

    Just give it a nice herbal massage, let it smoke for awhile, and have it for dinner. [​IMG]
  11. I would give it a rub and smoke it. Then slice it up for dinner. Any leftovers make great lunchmeat when sliced thin.
