I am the newest one right now.... what do I win?????

I consider myself a relatively new to the art of cooking on a charcoal/wood cooker/smoker. I have used a gasser for abt 20 yrs or so. More for the convience than anything else. My last gasser was a Brinkman ProSeries that is now abt 8 yrs old and still going strong. I purchased a CharGriller Super Pro with side fire box in January as a late Christmas early birthday present.

I have been smoking on it almost every weekend since then. Used the gasser abt twice since then.

I have done abt 4 briskets now, and really love them...

I am in NC.

A tag for my name is: I am grumpy because I can be.....

Hello Mr. Grumpy!!
Welcome to the best smoking forum on the web! I'm also from NC originally and I know there is some fine BBQ there. I expecially love the flavor of the eastern NC BBQ. I grew up on it and I've tried so many times for so long to duplicate the flavor. I can come close but I just can't quite match it. I've enjoyed the Q in NC in Rocky Mt., Wilson, Lumberton and also in Charlotte at Church and School BBQs. As a matter of fact, I used to help my Dad prepare the Q for some of the socials including the political rallys. I was a youngster then and didn't pay as much attention as I should have. That's why I now struggle with the preparation of the meat.

Anyway, again, welcome and please post often and let us know how you are doing.
