I'm am so worried about contaminating my dehydrator.

Can anyone recommend a good technique for making Turkey Jerky?

Also what is the best way t clean the dehydrator parts after so there is no contamination left behind?

    Thanks,

    Rob

Go to this site and click on products tab. Many useful videos and instructions even if you don't use their products. With fowl I would always at least use a cure.

To sanitize the dehydrator after making any jerky...... If the food is safe to eat, after following recipes from "Jerky seasoning manufacturers"... the dehydrator "should be safe" because food borne pathogens have been destroyed.....

That being said, a good cleaning to remove residue would be wise.... then a rinse/soak in something like a mild vinegar solution or mild bleach solution would be a good idea.... Some trays are polycarbonate and they do not like the alkaline/caustic properties of some electric dishwasher soaps and damage can result to the trays.... so hand washing is recommended.... that's where the vinegar and/or bleach come into play....
