Just had 2.3 " last night. Thank goodness rain moved off. Feel sorry for folks up north. More plus flooding. Got taters on right, Yukon gold and Kinnebeck. Doing excellent. White, red and yellow, sweet, onions to left. That was early stuff. Only lettuce, swiss chard and did later. got green beans(contender45 day) . Okra, I call Martha's. Old gal give us the seed. Does not get tall. Couple three inches tall and fat. Different deal. Taste the same. Got the peaches and cream, Wife wanted brussel sprouts, summer squash, zucchinni. Got another spot I put my glow in the dark corn I call it. Guy I know works for Channel, part of Monsato. Says no worms. Good even ears. First time plant had baby worms and told him, he said yea but one bite and they are done. Hmmmm. He has ate more than me. Haven't seen him in the dark. Well. Show us the garden guys.[IMG]

Well here we are, three months later. About 43 pounds. Lost bout a fifth of crop, rotten in ground. Seems they turned so quick. weather was weird. Should be cool and rainy in April. Temps gradually rising and don't plant till mid May after clear of frost. Warm and dry yhis April. Cold and rainy in May. People jump the gun to plant maters and such yhen nurseries sell out.[IMG]

Suburban Warrior here. With the clay, raised planters is the way to go. 4 kinds of tomatoes, 2 giant marconies, 1 yellow bell, 3 giant jalapenos, 2 red chiles, 1 zucchini, 2 yellow squash (crookneck & straight), 1 cucumber, and parsley & chives here and there. Peppers and squash coming on now. By end of July we should be picking pretty good :)

The hugelkulture beds have a little bit of everything in it, several varieties of peppers,  several varieties of tomatoes, different eggplants, different lettuces, various herbs, sunflowers, gerbera daisies. I didnt expect much to happen in these beds as its their first year. This is really just a "Sacraficial Run"

Bagged garden soil from Home Depot. Should have my own compost by next spring. Tomatoes are Big Beef, Early Girl, Golden Jubilee and Husky Cherry Red. Darn rain! It's been raining since yesterday evening and right now there's standing water along the fence. Had to replant tomatoes last year because they drowned. If it happens again the beds are going up another 6". Aarrgh!

Mine drowned last year too. Almost this year. Snapped out of it after I bought six more. Got 19 plants now, counting Sunsugar cherry by house.
