What are you smokin this weekend?

    With the holiday weekend coming up and my son's 23rd birthday on the 4th, I'm still trying to finalize what I'm smokin' so I can start gather my supplies and all.  I thinking I'm going to do 2 butts (1 for a friend), chicken and probably 8 racks of spare ribs for my son's little get together. One thing is for certain, they'll be a fine aroma of smoke in the neighborhood!

    Thought I'd ask what y'all are smokin up to see if I could maybe get some other ideas.

    Of course abts and a fattie. Been thinking about some brats and either ham or corn beef

    This won't help you any, but I'll tell you that I'm planning on smoking 4 racks of baby backs and some hot dogs. [​IMG]

    Oh yea, a batch of ABTs would be good to try again!  The batch I tried last week I pre soaked in 7up to turn the heat down a little for the wife. Worked as advertised and took the heat away yet you still had the good taste of the pepper itself.  I prefer spicy and hot flavors and definitely won't soak the entire bunch next time! Was just thinking of some johnsonville hot italian sausage!

    Speaking of ribs, I was out of town yesterday and had some time to burn so I drop in this store just to check on the meat availability, they wanted $2.89/# for spare ribs and $4.99/# for BB!! I couldn't believe it, I've been paying $1.54/# for spares. Oh well, that's another topic.

    Anyway, pickedup 4 chickens, 6 racks of spare ribs and another 9 lb butt for my 5 day weekend!  Pick up some corn and ABT supplies later today.  I've got lots of time on my hands so we'll see what we can get into.

    I think I am gonna take it easy this weekend. Gonna smoke some tomatoes for a smoked tomato and corn salsa I have been wanting to try. I also have some ripe jalapenos to toss into the smoker for making chipotle powder. That should be easy enough.
     
  7. Gonna smoke 1 White Castle Fatty, 1 Habanaro, Jalapeno, onion and cheddar fatty. a nice 4-5 lb Pork Butt for pulled Pork sandwiches and a load of abt's for me and Melonhead. Hey have any of you all tried Smoked Beer? That stuff is like Smoked Beef Jerky in a bottle.

    I was thinking about smoking a Cajun Meatloaf and some ABTs. Might throw a chicken in there while I'm at it but still making up my mind. (decisions, decisions).

    I've been neglecting the yardwork for the past couple weeks so I'll be doing catch up.  However, I'm hoping I can sneak in a couple of yardbirds prepared ala SR's Snake bit rub.....[​IMG]

    I have a 5lb chicken, some wings, and a rack of ribs I need to do sometime this weekend.  I also have some hot sausages I may throw on.  The issue is finding a suitable time (some day when I can actually eat it that evening).  I've been wanting to do a standing rib roast but I can't find the time to get the family together.

    That sounds like a great idea.  I May put some tomatoes on myself.  I also have some cayenne peppers I need to smoke for some powder.

    Just pulled 2 butts and 4 pastrami's from the smoker.... have a mess of ABTs tomorrow along with those bacon wrapped pork chicken tenders I like. I think that will cover it for the weekend.
