Welcome to the Smokin-It smokers owner's group! I wanted to start this group so those of us that have this unit have a place to trade tips and tricks, and also to answer questions of the folks who are considering one of these units.

So, take a moment to introduce yourself and your smoker :grilling_smilie:

Hello
I have a SI #1 love it. I hang out in Marietta, Ga but only because I have to. I was raised in Blackshear Ga and it's there, in those warm sandy furrows, where my heart has refused to leave. Besides eating smoked meat, I enjoy motorcycle adventure touring, camping and writing about it. It is good to be here among you.

wingsofsteel - I love that area of GA. I commuted between Seattle and Jax and got to know some folks in Alma/Blakshear area that worked in Jax. The summer sausage and snack sticks I made this weekend were from a doe I got during the Alma big buck contest this last fall. Their family still farms that area and has lots of land, hunted there on the weekends with them for deer and turkey. Amazing part of the country, can certainly understand your attachment. Welcome to the group!

I am from Petaluma CA and I am a #2 owner for bout 2 years. Am very happy with it, especially once I mastered the cold smoking plate. Have no mods and no plans for any.

I have a SI #1 and love it. It's built like a tank and has survived 2  2 foot dumps off the steps with only a couple dings...the salmon however was a different story.  I live in Minneapolis and spend my summers up in Ely, mn fishing. When I'm not in Ely I enjoy riding the scoot and seeing live music

Hi all -

ofrankie here from No. Mass. I have a smokin-it #2 unit, have only used it twice so far - spring is not too far away!!!

Look forward to reading suggestions, ideas from other owners.

Hello all,

new member here.  I don't yet have the SI yet but i'm very certain I'm getting the #3 as soon as my wife gives me the go-ahead  :-)

I gotta finish the back yard first. The SI will be to complement a Weber NG grill.

just wanted to say ,  great group , great recipe ideas!

Welcome, let us know if we can answer any questions for you about the smoker (you're on your own with the wife thing)

I also have a Weber gas grill and love it, they sure look pretty sitting next to each other.
