We are having a wedding & a 250 lb. hog has been donated. Help!

We are also grilling skewered chicken & buffet sides and of course bar appetizers & dessert, cake for  200 guests expected. How many will this hog feed? We are thinking of smoked & pulled for slider type sandwiches with a variety of sauces. Suggestions? How many ponds of pulled pork can we expect?

Thank you....anxious mom of Bride!

250 live..... 180 dressed...... 144 cut and wrapped.... or so one site says..... and it's all good for pulled pork.... probably the best you will ever eat... I will guess you will have 100 #'s of pulled pork after moisture and bone loss.... and some say portions go about 1/4 - 1/3 of a pound per person... depend on the age of the group... other foods available... and most importantly how long the party lasts....
We had a whole hog, 125#'s or so.... 25 guests.... party lasted until 6 AM.... everyone was under 40 yrs. old.... and, all but 10#'s was eaten.... and there was a lot of food all night.... That was a loooooooong time ago.......

You'll have plenty of Pig. All the other dishes and Apps. going in the mix, plus the Cake. Take some containers for leftovers.

The best to the Bride and Groom and do a lot ahead and enjoy the revelry too.

The Mom is important also...
