Hello All,

I'm Brett and live in Okanogan. My grandfather made sausage for a living until he retired in 1974. He still made sausage for family and friends until he died in 1983.  My dad and I then took over the sausage making for the family.  My dad passed in 2005 so now I make around 150 lbs. or so each year of smoked German sausage for family and friends each winter.

Outside of sausage, I love to cook, golf, fish, and BBQ.  Nice to see a WA group on this board. I'm gonna have to hook up with Dave Omak for coffee or something sometime since we live so close.

Morning and welcome..... I'm gonna have to hook up with Dave Omak for coffee or something sometime since we live so close.

Sounds good...... Dave

Either of you guys ever make it this way to Colville?   We are killin the trout right now.   Nice fish to,  90% triploids with an occasional big native fish.    They go 17" and up,  17" is probably well over a pound.   The other day 3 of us took our 15 fish in about 4 hours.

Nope on Colville... usually stay around here.... Maybe fish Rufus 1 or 2 times a year... maybe fish Bridgeport for kings...

I'm pretty much the same as Dave. Brewster pool for salmon and 1 or 2 trips to Hanford reach in Fall for Kings.  Never fished Colville area.

Not a fisherman...but we used to head up to Colville to go shooting. We can shoot on our property but my dogs freak out. I have heard there is a spot that folks use for shooting across the river...yet to find it......

I am new to the forum. But I have been fishing and smoking fish and other meats in the Northwest for over 40 years. I look forward to exchanging ideas here and meeting people.

I live in Tri Cities WA.

Thank you

George

Welcome to the forum Whatspapasmokin. Lookin forward to seein the pics of what you catch and smoke.

Hi, Tim here.

Live in Bellingham.  Grew up in Georgia, so love the deep hickory slow smoked meats. Pork butts and briskets are my favorite, but ribs and chicken get their share of grill time.

Love the fabulous scene here in Bellingham, especially the jazz, WWU, and great brewery choices. If you like traditional lagers, stop by Chuckanut Brewery.  Belgians?...Wander Brewing. Fine NW style ales?... Kulshan Brewing.

Currently cooking with a RecTec and Pit Barrel Cooker.  Would have a Backwoods Chubby with a guru or similar temp controller on the team if I could afford it and could hide the third machine from my wife who still doesn't understand why the old Weber kettle wasn't enough.

MY QUESTION:  Anybody able to score reasonably priced prime or high grade choice packer brisket in the Puget Sound region? I've heard that Costco's can have great deals on prime brisket, but sure not able to find any in this region.

Smoke on,

Tim

Welcome Tim! You left off Boundary Bay Brewing. One of my favorites.

Occasionally, Costco will have a good price on brisket, but I usually get mine at Cash & Carry. Or, if you have any kind of a business license (or know someone with one), try Restaurant Depot.

If you ever find yourself down in Lynnwood, check out the business Costco on Hwy 99. The prices there are cheaper than the regular Costcos.

Good luck and good smoking!

Mike

Hello to All,

Somehow I have missed this group, I am glad to join.

I started likemany with smoking fish and now many years down the road it has completely grown out of control. I spent 27 years with my business in Medford Oregon and have been up here in the beautiful SW Washington, Woodland (an exit coming to you soon)

Keep On Smokin,

Tom

Hi Tom

Welcome, I am just down the road in Battle Ground. What a mess you guys had with I 5 last week. I moved up here from Oregon a while ago after 37 years in local and state government. Just started smoking about 3 years ago and love it.
