I currently have the BGE and love everything that I cook on it.  I want to get another smoker that will fit more meat on it at one time.  Have been looking at the Lang smokers as well as others.  I just don't know where to go from here.  It will be used mostly in my back yard.  Some of the only things I know is that I want a charcoal or straight wood burning smoker.  Please tell what type of smoker you have, what makes it the best one for you and would you buy that one again or something different?

I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express but I'm still not smart enough to figure out the best smoker.

Thanks for your help.

I recommend determining budget then look at those pits in your price range. IMHO it does no good to look at a pit that runs 2 grand when your budget may be 400 bucks.

Having said that I always recommend WSM. I am admittedly bias because they work, take up a small footprint, and the company has world class Cust Serv. HTH

I didn't mention budget because I really don't have one.  2k doesn't bother me as long as it's worth it. I just need something larger than the BGE and I figure a 36 or 48 inch long smoker will give me more room to do more at one time. I will look up the WSM tho. Thanks

I have a friend who has a BGE but wanted more capacity and easier usage so he bought a Cookshack 066 AmeriQue like mine.

He loves it as muck as I do mine.

He still used his BGE for steaks, but when he wants to smoke it goes on the AmeriQue

Make sure you consider the somkers foot print - big smokers take big room. I to have and love my WSM - it has two large racks that hold a lot food but still has a small foot print. I can fit 4 10 lb. pork butts on each rack (with a little bit of squeeze).

Definately do some research before dropping several grand, poke around on the forum and see what other folks are using and how they like them.
