  1. Ok smoker family. I have never had as much fun as i have had since i found this site. I know someone has a jerky recipe that great Gandfather wont mind if it's shared. I was severly injured in an auto accident one and a half year's ago, and dont get out much. But i bring everyone of you, my friends into my home every night and I thank you for that. But i still need the jerky recipe, and NO i'm not crying.

    Hi,

What I do is search the different categories for ideas, I especially look for recipes that someone else has tried and gave it a good review, that recipe goes on my "priority" to do list, others that just look or sound good also will go on my to do list.

Have you looked at the beef jerky recipes here, some look and sound very delicious.

I haven't made jerky from whole muscle because it's too expensive, but I have made Bearcarvers Pepperoni Beef Sticks and they are over the top, others have tried them and say the same thing, he rolls his out by hand, I shot mine through a jerky gun, it might not be what your looking for but they sure are good and don't last very long.

Here is my lazy man's jerky:

5 pounds beef, sliced 1/4 inch thick.
    1 cup Yoshida's sauce
    2 tablespoons Worcestershire
    1 tablespoon black pepper
    5 tablespoons Morton's Tender Quick
    1 tablespoon onion powder
    1 crushed garlic clove.

Marinate for 16-24 hours and then smoke away.

If you want some heat add a tablespoon (or two) of crushed red pepper.

For sweeter add a tablespoon of brown sugar.

If using a dehydrator, add a tablespoon of liquid smoke to the mix.
