Virgin cook...reverse sear rib eye on the mini...Q-Views

    I had just smoked to about a 130 IT and started the sear.....Very Very happy with the way the mini operates so far. The learning curve is minimal.

    Thanks Red...you all have to stop talking me into different smokers...I HAVE ENOUGH NOW!   LOL.

    And we twisted your arm how hard ? .... Rib Eye looks very tasty...

    So did you have to wait until the coals got screaming hot after the smoke was done ? I know my coals don't seem hot enough for a sear when I lift the pot off... My thinking is the steak will cool down to much by the time the coals are hot enough... what says you ?

    Keith i know what you're saying... i had the the smoker on for about 45 minutes before i through the steaks on so there were enough that were hot and when i pulled the pot i just seared over those coals.   It seared really fast... but i know what you mean that these things are just so efficient that not many coals get going.

    ....and my arm HURTS BIG TIME!    lol,  Keith (also)
