Any good thoughts on prepping my MES 40 after 1 1/2 years of sitting. Cleaned the racks a little and have it running. It's at 300 degrees to kill what ever was in it. (cleaned it pretty good after the last smoke). Seems to be running fine. Just use my other smoker all the time. Have a 3 week trip and want to take it with me to use. Just don't want to get anyone sick when I cook in Ohio next month.

That's about it, I guess.

I like to make sure it's clean around the two sensors on the back wall inside too.

On mine one is about a third of the way from floor, on right side of center, and one is close to top on left side.

Biggest thing is the racks & any little piles of old fat that can start little camp fires.

Enjoy your trip!

Taking care of the racks Bear soaking in a degreaser and going to scrum them again and run thru the dishwasher. May just order new ones. Used the crap out of it until I got the big grill. Need to use it more for smaller cooks instead of the big grill. But I have to justify the expense of the Bubba
