Hi folks,
Longtime lurker, first-time poster. ;-)
I am a geek living in Sillycon Valley. I'm also very into DIY stuff like knitting, weaving, spinning, gardening, backyard chickens, camping etc.
I'm pretty good at grilling and cooking over an "open fire" while camping, (I can typically use one match and keep my fire the whole week, with banking the coals properly at night) but am a complete newbie (but enthusiastic!) to smoking meats. I have a dual propane/charcoal grill with a propane "burner" for the chimney, and a SFB on the other side.
I tend to buy meats direct from the rancher - I have a freezer full of pastured pork I need to go through before December when the new hog comes. (Yeah, there are worse problems, right?)
Anyways - I had to join to tell y'all how much I appreciate all the guidance and information you have provided me already. I look forward to learning more. Thanks.
