Uh oh. I think the cult of WSM is calling. :)

So I got a Smoke Hollow propane smoker about 2 years ago. Love love love it.  Works flawlessly and I've had some great success with it.

Well yesterday at a company tailgate party some coworkers had WSM's and I was asking questions and watching them and I found out that using the WSM is really really easy. What sold me was the size of the smoking pan and the ability to add large wood chunks (unfortunately the Smoke Hollow doesn't have a big wood box - biggest drawback).

Anyone here go from a propane smoker to a WSM? Any regrets? My wife has already blessed my purchase if I can sell my propane smoker.

Any suggestions/tips/good places to buy the WSM? :)

I had a propane and now have a 22 wsm..Of course there was a Lang in between , but that's another story.. Get the 22 wsm and u will have no regrets.Last weekend i got 18 hours of burn time with the wsm...Got mine on Amazon..Happy smokin !

You can't beat a WSM. The flavor you get & the ease of use, along with it's well built & carries the WEBER name. I have a gasser too & use them both. If you can I would keep both of them.

Well, you might say I've converted.  I have a Big Block GOSM that use to be my primary smoker but now I use for special projects like cold smoking and the like and I bought a 22.5 WSM last July and haven't looked back.  The WSM is my primary smoker now.  Coupled with my Weber OTG grill, I'm ready for the dark side now.  Come on over, the water's just fine.

Get a WSM -- you will not be sorry.  I found one last year ob Craigslist.  18 1/2", well cared for.  $100.  I got lucky.  If you are in no hurry you might check for a bit, but they are few and far between, and go quickly.  Like I said, you won't be sorry. it's a great smoker!

Hey thanks all for the feedback. Did a lot of reading and am pretty stoked to pick one up. I'd love to keep my propane smoker but part of the deal with my wife was to sell that one and use the cash to offset the WSM purchase.

Probably going for the 18.5 version since it looks more than adequate for my small needs :)

Come to the dark side..... (the black painted WSM dark side that is

You will love the WSM, it really is a great home (and even competition) smoker. Now if you can just figure out a way to let the wife agree to let you have TWO smokers! lol

Well, I sold my Smoke Hollow and picked up a WSM this week. Assembled it last night and going to do a smoke tomorrow! Aw yeah!!

I think it's contagious!!  I ordered my first one (a 22.5) on Saturday on amazon.com, got it on Monday (we live near the Weber factory!).  Assembled out of the back of my truck in about 10 minutes.  Planning to cure/break it in Friday and do ribs and maybe a chicken on Saturday.

My poor little 17" Meco looks so sad in the corner of the garage now!

That's been my smoker for 10 years and I got it free, so I think he's definitely earned his keep!  Can't believe the size of the WSM, that sucker's HUGE!!

The 22.5" WSM could eat your Meco and still have room for dessert! lol

Yeah, they are amazingly roomy once you get them set up.

Now what you need to do is donate your Meco to some poor suffering person who wants to break into the smoking arena.

You'd be surprised how small the WSM gets when you cooking for a family party of 12 or so.
