I need some help please.

I am building a UDS 16 gallon and need some info. what size should the expanded metal be before rolling into shape, width and length please. I also need to know what size to cut the intake holes and how many do I need to cut. The magnets that many have used are  1/2" at Home Depot and is the right size. Any tips on what to use for a charcoal pan? I know this is a lot to ask and I am new to this site but I need any information you can give.

Thanks

They sell a thin sheet of expanded metal at Lowes and Home Depot, it's in a box by the angle iron bin. If your going to make a square basket you can use 3/4 #9. Far as size not sure all my drum smokers are 55 gallon. I'd do 3 3/4 one in each side and one in the middle with ball valves for fine tuning. For a charcoal basket I use tractor disks. You can get them in just about any size.
