Well this year I wasn't planning on smoking a turkey but the family wasn't going along with that idea so I did a test fit with a 13 pound bird and it fit the Mini just fine. 3 1/2 hours later the bird was done.
Hope you all had a safe Thanksgiving Day!

Looks tasty! We weren't going to do one either but ended up smoking a 5 pound breast in the Mini-WSM. Weather was terrible so didn't bother taking pics!

Once you spoil the family with smoked turkey they won't want it any other way!  lol  My family tried oven roasting a turkey one year, and we all looked at each other like, "this bird isn't right"  lol  Learned our lesson, every turkey that hits our table is now cooked in the smoker.

Well done Dutch. Perfect looking bird. And done in only 3 1/2 hours too! I often wondered if I could cook a turkey on the mini. That 13 pounder fits perfectly. Thanks for the inspiration! b

I used a smaller saucer in the bottom and was able to run the Mini between 325°-350°. I shut the vents on the Mini to kill the fire and when I went out later to pack things up, I still had about half of my charcoal that didn't get used. And my son-in-law asked "Is that going to be enough fuel for 4 hours?" Umm-yeah!
