First time smoking a tri tip thought I had a before pic can't find it tho, but here are the results. Temp held steady at 225, did a basic salt pepper and garlic powder. Then I seared it under the broiler, I think next time I will use the skillet. Used a bit too much smoke the ends were a little pungent but overall it was good will definitely shorten the length of smoke going forward. Up until this run I had done a good job of not over smoking. Here are some pics... Definitely a learning experience today...
 
Looks good! Try using less/different types of wood I really like cherry personally! What type of smoker do you have?
