Since its rare to find tri tips in my part of the woods.. last week I picked up 6 tips for 2.99lb... I couldnt pass them up.... great find. Saw some at costco today for $6.50lb.. already seasoned.. bleh!

Wow! $2.99 is a steal. Heck, i'd even happily pay $6.50. Trip tip is $8 per pound up in my parts!

It was fantastic and worth every penny, but damn I wish I could score it for cheaper.

I found a mexican market that every two weeks has them.. for around that price.. I set aside $30 and will buy all 3 packs (2 tips each).. take em out and vacpac em for the freezee... guess I really do need a bigger freezer now.

Tri tip roasts are rarer than a Canadian hot spot around here. I am jealous. However, I may go on bent knee to the meat manager at the local supermarket after seeing these pictures.

For sure without smf.. tri tips I would walk past IF I see it in the grocery.. now I know. . Thank you SMF left coast peeps ;)

I just picked up a giant vacpack of tri tips from Cash N Carry. $2.88lb! Gonna smoke up 2 or 3 on Sunday. Gonna do a coffee rub, steak and chop rub and a regular salt and pepper job on one. Should be good especially since my neighbor is letting me borrow his meat slicer. So if all goes well, I should have some tri tip roast beef for my lunches. :)
