I surprised my wife with some Surf and Turf for Valentines day. Tatonka Dust Tri Tip, Lobster tail and bacon wrapped asparagus.
I have been dying to try the Tatonka dust on a Tri Tip so I ran over to Costco and picked up the last package. I seasoned it up with some pink salt, Tatonka Dust, pepper and Canadian Steak seasoning. The flavors were awesome and this will be on the menu regularly at my house.

Here are all of the players. The second Tri Tip went in the freezer for later.

All seasoned up and ready for a nap in the fridge. I wish I could have let it sit in the fridge for longer but I was running short on time since I worked all day.

The huge lobster tails were calling my name at Costco so I picked up a 1lb tail for the wife and I to split. I injected it with a garlic butter mixture.

I was in such a rush to get everything put together that I didn't get a lot of good pictures but you get the idea.

Tri Tip all cut up and slightly over done for my liking but still very juicy and had a wonderful flavor. I didn't get it off until it hit 140 so it was only slightly pink.

Lobster tail and bacon wrapped asparagus.

    Very nice Ross!

Either you have small hands or that was one big lobster!

This Dust reminds me of a butcher Shop in Montgomery, AL called Penny Profit. They had the best steaks that were pre-seasoned with a blackish something.  Almost looked like a charcoal powder.  If you didn't get there 1st thing in the morning....you didn't get the steaks on a Friday.  The Old man that ran the place died before his kids could get the recipe from him.

Is the dust "spicy" or just a seasoning?

The Tatonka Dust isn't spicy and I can't even explain the taste other than it's awesome. Everyone I know that has tried it has loved it. Two of our members on here make and sell it. I highly recommend it to anyone.

I did a Gill/Smoke on my kettle. I had it running a little under 300 degrees and I had a couple chunks of apple wood in there for some smoke flavor. You definitely need to try the Tatonka Dust.

Wow Ross! That is some good looking Valentine's dinner. Was the misses impressed? It won't be much longer until you are feeding these yummies to that sweet baby girl!

The little one already loves it. She gobbles down steak, pulled pork and Tri Tip like crazy. She loves to eat meat like her daddy I guess.

How long did you leave the asparagus on the smoker?
