Another quick fix dinner option (like my Flank Steak post).

I did add some woodchips to my smoke box, but it didnt release much smoke since i cooked the tri-tip so low.

For me these always turn out best by seasoning with a simple garlic salt, and pepper rub (and that's it). A little bit on the heavy side since I like to cut the pieces so thin. Giving each bite a salty/peppery flavor).

Cooked on my Weber propane, 2 of 3 burners on.

Pulled at 150 (the ole lady likes it medium) and wrapped for 30 mins

Provolone & Tri-Tip Sammies

I had two...I wish I woulda got a lil bit of smoke in 'em, but when I have a bit more time, I'll cook em slowly over some pecan

Great looking TriTip - it is one of my favorite - I stopped using the smoker box and went to foil packets with holes in the top - gives me lots more smoke - I use 2-3 per smoke and like the flavor

I have to say I am disappointed in this wood chip box, and probably will go back to the foil method (which I did before buying this).

It doesn't produce good smoke unless I get that metal extremely hot, then it smokes really fast. Oh well, I'm a sucker for anything they market towards smoking

Now that thing looks great and it does make a really good sammies too.
