I got a Traeger Tailgater for Christmas! Definitely an upgrade from my Brinkmann. I can't wait to do a pork butt on this thing. Something I was never comfortable doing on the Brinkmann. That thing went through fuel like no other. Any tips or suggestions on cooking with the Traeger are welcome.

I also got a new apron

I will definitely put up some Q-view when I break her in.

If you're on Facebook, there is a Traeger Owners group that has a lot of information.

What I learned about using the smaller Traeger was that I have to bounce back and forth on the three temp settings that my Junior came with to keep a medium temperature going.  The recipe book that comes with the Traeger is good; there are more when you google search stuff.  I have yet to find something I don't like to smoke on the Traeger.  Welcome!

Thanks XenaTuba. The tailgater actually has the digital controller. The main thing I'm noticing right off is the small hopper. Did some steaks and burgers. So far so good. Doing a 6.5 lb butt on sunday morning. I'll have q-view of that.
