Hi All,
I think I have decided on a traeger grill for the house. I have questions though. Is the food coming off it good as far as smoking content. Smoke ring etc... Also, since this will be my all in one. If I turn this up to medium or high, can I grill steaks and other things on it just as fast as my Weber propane grill, now deceased. I am looking for one unit, I grill a lot and smoke a lot, but room; I don't have a lot

. Thats why I thought the Traeger would fit the bill perfectly. Thanks for all your input.

I have used my traeger for most everything including steaks. If you are looking to get that seared flavor you will be dissapointed, it just doesn't get hot enough. It will give them a good smokey flavor. Pork chops, meatloaf, and chicken get great, along with the normal stuff that is low and slow. Good luck with your new unit.

Yes. Exhibit A:

Yes, prob not quite as fast though, you will not get the sear/char like you would from open flame or charcoal though since it is indirect heat. They will get up around 400 degrees, whereas a nice hot bed of coals will be much higher.

I love mine. That being said, I don't grill steaks on mine very often. Some around here do. I have switched to smaller roasts, namely the Tri-tip or a small rib roast, if i want a nice piece of beef. A rib-eye, t-bone, etc. i will still do on my gasser. But like I said, I love mine.
