Ok... Don't need this but I can't help my addiction. Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal? http://longisland.craigslist.org/for/4680615813.html

Seller says is 5 years old but works great and had been kept in the garage and used rarely. Thanks for your help and if you think I should take a shot offering less, let me know! And if my wife kills me and I'm on the news later this week, you guys can all have my other grills and smokers haha

Well, for 200 it's tempting. However, it's not a digitally controlled unit so I'm not sure how old it is nor am I familiar with anything about it's performance. Hopefully someone with Traeger knowledge will come along and offer more advice. I run a Char Griller pellet pusher and really like the digital controls and overall ease of use & performance of a pellet smoker

You can see the difference in units here http://www.basspro.com/Traeger-Lil-...uct/1402111012/?hvarAID=shopping_pricegrabber

I believe a new one that size with new controller is $800. Like Chef Wille, I dont have alot of knowledge when it comes to Traegers. Hopefully some one with more Traeger smarts will chime in here and help you out.

I don't have one either, but hey, for $200 I think it's worth the experiment. I'd jump on it at that price before it's gone.

I own the same model and mine is roughly 5 years old. They are absolutely terrible in the winter for temperature control. (Thin walls on barrel)

If you do make an offer...offer less and spend an extra $200 on a Savannah Stoker controller that fits right into controller opening and plugs into all the factory connections. Best money ever spent on a Traeger to get it to perform up to its potential.

I know this post is over a week old.....   I've had a Lil Tex Elite for almost two years and love it.  When I bought mine, I was told by the sales rep there was a period of time Traegers were built in China and they had issues with quality control.  My neighbor was a victim of one of these cheaply made smokers.  Since that time Traeger has increased the thickness of walls and upgraded some of the internal parts.  As another poster said, the digital controller is pretty clutch.  You can buy them from a variety of companies or just get one from Traeger directly.  Good luck!

Unfortunately, it was sold before the seller even emailed me back.  Probably saved me some explaining to my wife about why she cant see the deck anymore haha
