I went camping again last weekend. This little lake doesn't have camp sites so I brought my tractor rim for cooking.

I put my biscuits in an oiled foil pie pan, top with another pan and wrap the whole thing in foil to hold them together. Then I flip them for even cooking.

Fried some spuds and onions, and browned my spicy hot sausage...

Made my sausage gravy...

Unwrapped the biscuits....

The biscuits and spicy sausage gravy, fried tatoes with onions and fruit. I like fruit!

Thanks for checking out my camp breakfast. :)

Looks Great as Usual...

I love sausage gravy and biscuits.
Vedry clever using the 2 pans, not to mention taking a tractor rim to cook with. Bravo!

I love the biscuits and gravy and the taters but what the heck is up with the healthy food sitting next to the good stuff ? LOL

Jeanie you are the real Mcagiver of the smoking world. But can you make a watch into a lighter with alittle kiddling. Everything you touch seams to turn out to be yummy at least. Those are some nice looking biscuits with two pans then you throw in a tire rim. Ok then waht can you do with a frog two rocks and a horse shoe. I'll check back soon.

Damm that looks good! As usual you have made me extremely jealous of your campfire skills.

You know Jeanie I have 30 acres of land on my property and nothing but family for neighbors who aren't allowed to complain about the smoking or noise so maybe we need to get one hell of an SMF party going (if you ever find yourself this far East), you doing your awesome campfire food (and I hope your smoked goodness going as well) and invite many other members and we could have one hell of a party, though me being in Jersey and you in OK I guess that would take some serious planning, though if we can get enough people form the general area (New England and close by) I would love nothing more than to host it,smoked some great food, smoke some goodness, have a blast and crack open many a good beer.
Just have to make sure we recycle those beer bottles and cans, I'm all for trying to keep it green.

Scarbelly, I have to eat healthy once in awhile. Makes up for the days I eat pretzels. Also those days when I eat black olives off the tips of my fingers.

Thank you again folks!

WOW!

I loked earlier but had to go and now the posts are backing up what I thought.. ITS a SCRUMPTIOS MEAL! .. great style~~! I tolod a few friends who had just gotten back from camping last night and they were Impressed about the biscuts and the Homemade gravy@!I will be trying this out on a Mancation later in the year! where the Whiskey flows better and I can make truly good and fatty food... instead of the freezedried backpackin fair that me and the missus take out .. "to make it easier" ...

ANYWAY!!!

CHEERS!

Thanks Grue!
The gravy recipe is really easy.. I brown 1lb of spicy hot sausage, (If you don't make your own Jimmy Dean Hot sausage is the best).
Then add about 2 tablespoons of flour, mix that in and let it fry a bit in the sausage drippings... then add milk. You can taste for salt and pepper. Let it simmer til bubbly.
The spicy sausage usually has enough flavor for me.
It's also not hot like you might think....the milk cuts the heat down. It's easy and tasty over the campfire.

The biscuits are really easy too. They just need to be flipped and turned. I check them after 20 minutes.

Heli, I love the sound of your Mancation! lolol!!

I bet you have a blast!

If you are interested in an underground meal while camping, check out my blog... http://cowgirlscountry.blogspot.com/...t-cooking.html

You get to sit around and have a few cold drinks while supper cooks. There's no fire to tend! lol

Hope you take lots of pics of your campout!

Thanks!
