Total newb in MD

Doing my first smoke as I write this.  I've lurked around here a few weeks, reading up on equipment and stuff.  I bought a Master Built smoker and am very glad I read the forums on the Master Built mods.  I've modded mine and took pictures along the way, which I'll add to that thread when time allows.

Welcome to the forums!  Glad you've joined us.  You've found a great place to learn and share ideas on our favorite pastimes...grilling, smoking, and curing great food!  There are lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks here who really enjoy helping one another.  Just ask any time you need help and you'll get plenty!

Welcome!! I'm fairly new to smoking also, been smoking about 1 year now. It does become addictive. I smoke something at least once a week, weather it be chicken, pork, or beef. The more I do it the easier it gets, and well the food is awfully good, and beats most of the restaurants in the end. I'm in northern VA, and not to many smokers around me, so my brother in Maryland if you ever need anything let me know. I also own a MES, and have no real complaints. It works great, and can smoke enough food to feed my family of 8. I'm smoking an 8lbs. Boston Butt today, btw Harris Teeter has Boston Butt on sale for $1.49 a pound right now, and short ribs on sale for the same. Think I spent $25 and got about 15#'s of meat. Think the sale ends Wednesday.
