Too cold to smoke, but I'll deep fry!

  1. Well, here in Webster, NY it's about 15 and very windy. I live in the tundra. Too cold to fire up chargriller... and I really didn't want to smoke this bird in the MES. So... out came the Masterbuilt Electric Turkey Frier. Mmmm.

    I injected the bird with a sauce of my own creation (garlic powder, onion poweder, sage, chicken broth, lemon juice, butter) then rubbed it down with some spices. The oil's heating up now but here's a couple of pix to start.

    Don't you have alot of jackets and gloves and snow shoes and a big furry bear skinned hat and one of the sock thnigys for over your head and face you know with the eye holes and then some pocket warmers and throw all your thermos in the dryer first and then put all of that one then you can go out and see if you can find the smoker. So boy get goin and start the smoker for me. I'll be out there soon as I can find all this **** of mine to put on too.

    Here's the injection marinade
    4 TBS melted butter
    1/3 cup molasses
    2/3 cup chicken broth
    3 TBS lemon juice
    3 TBS lime juice
    1 TBS garlic powder
    1 TBS sage
    1/2 TSP salt
    1 TSP pepper
    simmer it all together and cool down before injecting.
