So I smoked a chicken using the beer can chicken method; however, I also injected the chicken with Texas-Hunters recipe for Spicy Smoked Paprika Butter(http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/for...Paprika+Butter)...... Long smoke at 225 for a little bird, but wow did it come out juicy and full of flavor. A must do for everyone, I am beside myself tonight with the results...

Looks like someone had the smoking bug today (saw your other post with the pork centerloin). Nice job on the chicken. What type of beer did you use?

nice looking bird-and as far as beer in the but I don't think it matters.I love that way of cooking yard birds.

Good point Desertlites - I just did a search on what types of beer is best for smoking with different types of meat, and found a good link that didn't really list a preference.

I'll stick with the beer!!! Today I used Coors Light because that was all I had in a can!

Looks great. About how long does it take for the chicken. I am going to do my first chicken this weekend along with a brisket and a fattie or 2

I bought two bird/can holders like you got there and plan on putting 'em to use this weekend. I will have to try the jazzed up butter recipe, that does sound tasty! Any tricks on making the outside crispy, besides plain ole' smoking? (Newbie here)
