I am making a new smoker/grill and got a nice quote on powder coating the tank and firebox. My firebox is an old plated steel wood burning stove. Problem is, I don't know if the powder coating on the firebox will hold up to the heat. The guy at the shop said the only problem they have run into was powder coating some Harley tailpipes. He said the tailpipes got over 1200 degrees F at which point the powder coating starting to flake. I am looking for anyone who has or know someone who has done this and had success or failure. Thanks in advance.
