I usually slice my dried beef for SOS on my slicer.  But I only had about a half lb left in freezer, and didn't want to have to deal cleaning the slicers for so little meat.

Now I know my mandolin slicer says not to use for slicing meat, but what the heck...I'll try it.

Worked better than the slicer for shaving super thin.  The slicer tends to jam really thin shaved meat up in the slicer.

I had cut my dried eye of round into thirds to make slicing easier, either with knife, or slicer.

So this last piece I tried my Ben Rhiner  mandolin.  It Worked GREAT!!!  (Even though I had already thawed it out for two days,)

Paper thin, and no effort to speak of.

Maybe it will dull my blade faster with regular use, but who cares?  I didn't have to clean my electric slicer!

Sliced this thin, it will flavor the gravy better with less meat too. I packaged three, instead of the normal two, this way.  But that's up to you.

Going to have some tonight for supper.

I'm sure I'm probably late to the party, and someone already posted about this,

but just in case, I posted anyway.  Someday, I may discover something new that will actually be news on SMF.  LOL
