Yesterday I bought what I though was 4-small Pork Shoulder Blade Boston Roast.

I was planning on cooking them tonight/tomorrow, and promised 3 close friends that they could each have a butt.

Upon further review, it turns out they a 2 Roasts of 9 pounds each.

So now I am wondering what I should do?

Cook both of the 9 pounders, and then cut them when they are done - or-

Cut them both and cook all 4 smaller pieces.

And if I do cut them, can you describe where to cut them?

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

  2. You can do it ether way. If you cut them in half. You will have more bark and a shorter cooking time. Remember to post a Qview.

    Happy smoken.

Those are big.  Boston Butts in my area come in at the 5 LB range.

Two 4 1/2 pounders would work fine.

Be sure to locate the blade bone when deciding where to make your cuts.

    Good luck and good smoking.

Its time to soul search about just how good a friend they are....LOL

Me, I'd make sure they could use all the meat, then buy two more..... maybe get to smoke twice.... Mana from heaven!

Smoke them to 205 and pull both of them in a huge bowl then split it up however you want.
