Well I am from California city of pasadena, I been doing bbq for about 10 years now. I been staying low key never got out to the social media things. But the word got out this past weekend for the super bowl and friends and people want me to get out there more and show my art in the bbq game. That's when I went on the computer and found this forum. anyhow, I cook in all kinds of cookers and built and own some of the main name ones out there. I been self taught just 2 mentors that I found out there in my journeys of life that share some tips and advise in the bbq world. So what that said I look forward to learning new things from some of you bbq people out there

Welcome to SMF!

Lots of very informed people on here to help with just about anything food related.

Glad to have you with us!

Al

Welcome to the board! I have a friend in Altadena.  Now go walking in the hills and come back with your pants smelling like sage.

That little town is right at the foot of the San Gabriel mountains. You can stand in his front yard and point 45 degrees up at terrain.

Edited to add, he's running an offset stick burner.

Also thanks for the welcome bluewhisper, I hike most of this mountains up here one of my past time thing to do. Is your friend on this fourm? I have meet some pitmasters out here and 2 of them are from altadena. Oh and that sage smell is awesome. I like to brew a beer with that aroma one of this days.
Well thanks for the welcome and looking forward to all

Welcome from SC. It's good to have you on this great site. Now, instead of 2 mentors, you have over 30,000 friends that you can ask about cooking.

As far as I know he isn't on this forum, but he should be. Maybe I'll nag him.

Altadena, walk down the sidewalk and pick lemons off the trees hanging overhead. Rosemary growing as a nuisance weed. I was there in March so I don't even know what the farmers market scene is like in season.

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from a nice sunny day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.
