I am setting out to build a custom smoker witb what my friends and I have laying around. So far I have a old propane tank and a air compressor tank. Sizes are unknown right now. Not sure what type of smoker I want to build yet.Thinking of using the propane tank as a fb and warmer. All ideas are welcome to help this build. More pics are coming soon.

Change of plans. Going to use only the propane tank. So now I need ideas. I have access to a turbo burner for frying. Not sure where I should start now that I am not making offset

Can you get 2 gas tanks?
Just thinking out aloud here but you could stack them, 1 or 2 peices of pipe between them to allow heat and smoke threw.
Doors on each, flu on top, air flow on base.
The bottom one is the heat and smoke maker, top holds your goods..

All I have right now is that large propane tank. I was looking last night and thought about building a smokehouse over the tank with a stove pipe coming up. Any thoughts on this.

The FB is 18" tall and 26" Diameter inside. Gives me 6616 cubic inch. The smokehouse I can build with cheap lumber is 3ft. Tall and 2ft wide 2ft long. Says I should use a fb of 6912 cubic inch. Should a be fine.
