I just started getting into smoking meet here in lovely Michigan. I just purchased a Treager Elite smoker and have only cooked a couple things. I am looking forward to doing ribs, brisket and I really want to do some pork belly, I like to experiment when it cook so I am sure there may be an occasional item that might not turn out the best but that's how I learn. I know there seems to be a lot of difference between what brand pellets to use and what's the best thermometer to purchase is. I think the thermometer will be one of my biggest decisions since they can be expensive. I know internal temperature is extreme important. I recently retired and hope to be able to enjoy this activity very much. I look forward to learning much from all of you.
