My friend and not so forum newbie ThailandPhil sent me some bird pepper seeds back in March and thought I'd share a pic of how they are doing.

out of 19 seeds planted I got 14 to germinate, then mother natures creatures took 3. I've got 5 in pots and 6 in the ground all are doing well.
here's two of the potted ones, they seem to be doing better then the ones in the ground. I'm guessing cause the roots might be warmer in the black pots. :dunno

Thanks for the seeds Phil!
I'll update this as things progress.

Cool Dan.........or should I say hot!.........

I've been working on a recipe for a red thai curry  wet rub for a pork butt...smokin it...pullin it and instead of coleslaw doing up som tum (thai green papaya salad) and doin that over the pig...

I've got a yellow thai chile planted. Will send pics when it starts producing. It's about 16" tall. The ones I planted a couple of years ago were late producers but did they ever produce gobs of peppers. Also have several other types planted. Will post pics soon.

They look great and healthy .. Yes the black buckets will help beings that the ground temps are going to be colder than that of the buckets .. and peppers grow a lot better when the soil is above 60F .. Good luck hope they produce well for you !!

Did a malaysian curry rub over in lamb if that helps, worked pretty well. Those peppers renamed scuds here in thai community. I  do a few thai curry variants, green papaya or mango salads a winner . Not sure about over pig think next to pig  better option.

Thought I'd update this thread. It's been a long wait but I got some peppers showing. At first I had a ton of blossoms that wouldn't pollinate now they seem to be better. Maybe one pepper for 3 blossoms.

june 25 th pic

august 1 pic

And they maybe small but they're there

And a close up for my supplier ThailandPhil, so he don't have to put his glasses on.
