Austin, Tx signing in.

Just a hobby.

I designed a custom pit using the Lang hybrid as my model, but with a few modifications.

This is my first serious pit. All previous models since 1995 have been on the cheap and probably cost just as much as a heavy-duty pit if all costs were combined. I'm done with the COS.

Found someone west of San Antonio that agreed to build it: http://www.rivercottagetables.com/matts_bbq_pits

Picked it up 11/21/15 and burned it in the next day.

Preparing to smoke a couple of yard-birds Thanksgiving morning.

So, my wife said I can have the left side to smoke meat, and

she reserves the right side to grill. Fair 'nuff, right? -B

Good evening and welcome to the forum, from another pretty nice day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Pork product getting imbued with pecan smoke.

Porky is out, but Hanz and Franz get the treatment.

Hanz already devoured, Franz is back on the menu.

Porky finally brought to his resting place.

In the end you know you had a successful Thanksgiving! Wish they stayed around a little longer....

Isn't it amazing how everyone suddenly has some reason to leave when it's time to clean up LOL! Nice smoker and some good looking chow.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Please forgive me on being later to your welcome.  We are happy you joined the group.  The custom looks awesome.
