Just wanted to say hello. my Late Brother was the smoker of the family,so since he passed away, i think i need to learn how to use the equipment he left behind. he was good so i thought the best way to learn is to come to a SMOKING COMMUNITY. i'm a good griller, but with Yall's help i mite be able to impress Mom(The Ultimate Judge). I'm looking forward to learning and growing in knowledge. ;0)

Welcome to the forum. You will learn a ton from all the great people here. You might want to check out Jeff's 5 day e-coarse. It's loaded with great information, and its free.
May all you smokes be thin and blue.

Welcome to SMF, you've found a great group of people that will help you along the way.

You'll soon love this hobby as much as your brother did.

Welcome to SMF! You found the place to get you up to speed as fast as possible. You will never replace your brother's work, obviously- but you will develop your own style, and I bet Mom will be VERY happy with it! Enjoy and have fun!

Welcome L2Burn. Sorry to hear about your brother. Glad he left you some equipment. Jump right in with some smokes of your own. Each time out you learn something about the meat your smoking. These guys smoke all kinds of things. Very interesting. Good luck.

...I lost mine not long ago also. Great people here more than willing to help...As others have said you should sign up for the e-course I learned a lot in just that

Howdy!

You've found a nice place to learn and chat about BBQ.

There are a few BBQ competitions in the middle-TN area coming up *(Lebanon, Mt. Juliet, Dickson, Cookeville, etc.) Not to mention the big cookoffs in Lynchburg & Memphis.

I think there might even be a judge certification school soon if you're interested.

Welcome aboard. Sorry to hear about your brother but you came to the right place for folks to give some help and advice. They have done wonders for me.
