First smoke on my WSM, new to charcoal.

Interesting first lite of charcoal, definetly things to learn BUT:

I finally got some TBS going. Hickory chunks!

Its very think, and its cloudy out so I cant get a good picture, but its there!!!! Very exciting I thought I'd share that with you all.

Q Views to come.

Congrats on achieving your first thin blue.
Just kind of makes you feel good doesn't it?
Happy smokes Herky, keep up the good work.

Did you mean thin, or thick?

You do want thin, not thick.

Oh it was thin. Now its gone. I guess there is a bit to learn about wood placement / amount used.

Still cooking tho so I'll have to taste test to see what amounts to use. Also its crappy out so hard to see any smoke.

Thanks all!

EDIT: As I write this, I must have hit another chuck of hickory because its back.

Its cool how small adjustments to the vents can control the temp.

yea you have the thin blue smoke. Now go our son and turn out a great chuckie please return with some Qview.
