Hey all!
Scott from just west of Madison, WI. Begged my wife for years for a smoker but always set my sights on something bigger than I needed like the Mak 1 star general. Cooler heads prevailed (my wife) and she surprised me early this summer with a Green Mountain Grills Davy Crockett.
Although small this thing has been awesome! Normally I only smoke for the two of us so the size is perfect. I have done a 12lb pork butt to share with the neighbors and it worked great. All in all it sure beats the pants off of foil packets of wood chips and struggling to control temps with my gas grill serving as a makeshift smoker.
Should be using the Davy Crockett in true tailgate mode for the first time this weekend with my father in law. The plan is brats, bacon wrapped onion rings, baked beans and a few cold beers!
