Sunday Smoke Pork Butt

Discussion in 'Pork' started by remsp10, Mar 30, 2014.

  1. Just got these 2 nestled in the my WSM for the day.  Currently running at 230 deg and holding with apple wood chunks.  Will get some more follow up pictures later.
  2. I will follow, waiting for all day updates.

  3. Little foggy from the heat.......

Had to throw the top grate in for some bear ribs that are in route with a friend of mine.

  4. Final product of the bear ribs...(missed the before photo)

Here is the first butt that was done (I never got a picture of the second one as we were eating when it got done)

I just picked up a new WSM and noticed it looks like you tin foiled the water pan.  I was just wondering the reason you did that. Thanks!

The water bowl is tinfoiled to make clean up easier. Just replace the foil instead of scrubbing the mess out. I personally fill my waterbowl with sand and place a terra pot on top wrapped in foil. It's all a personal preference.
  10. Awesome smoke....  Love it.

Always used water helps keep moisture up.
I find the bottom of the water pan gets dirtier
