My name is Steven (not Steve please) and currently I am finishing up my senior year at Washington state university (Pullman), studying civil engineering. Due to my living situation I do not currently have a smoker/grill but I thought it would be a good idea to get an idea of where to go/how to do things and research this forum a bit. My plan is to get an electric set up at first with a goal to make pepperoni, landjaeger and jerky. Lately I have been very interested in outdoor hobbies and skills and got some help picking up fly fishing (just need to learn more about flies now and get some experience) and hopefully will go hunting with my dad or get some help doing so for the first time next year. I also want to pick up cheese making and leather working but to avoid biting off more than I can chew and setting school work aside. Please comment/PM me with any tips/suggestions for a new member!

Howdy Steven welcome! Enjoy the site until you get yourself set up and rolling! I work with engineers everyday. During my college years I worked for a civil firm as a surveyor. Get that degree and then get to smoking! I will have to say though, GO DUCKS!
