Well I have been looking on this site and asking question for a few months and love this site.  I have decided to do my own smoker build and I went with a 500 gallon propane tank.  I know it might be bigger than I ever need but I like to have party's and would love to do a whole hog sometime so I figured I would go with the 500 Gallon.  My question is on cutting the tank.  I have it filled with watter and soap and it had been airing out for about 2 weeks before I put the watter in it.  I was wondering how long to let it set to be safe on making my first cuts.  I will have pictures of step by step when I get to start the build.  If you guys could let me know about how long to let it set would be great.  Thanks a lot

you should be ready to cut it now I'm building a 1000 gallon smoker I cut my tank with a gas power 14" saw one suggestion make your top cuts first weld on your hinges then cut the rest of your  doors out they will be extremely heavy and hard to line up if you cut them out completely good luck hope to see some pics

Thats one hell of a good idea.  Never thought about that but your right.  Thanks for the heads up.  I will get some pics on here ASAP.  Thanks again
