My name is Kile, i am new to smoking and to this site! I have been smoking on a home made smoker in our back yard, but I now have a Smokey Mountain Smoker, the older model. I am husband to Katie, and father to Elaina! I look forward to learning from you all.

Does anyone have any recommendation for starting out? equipment, absolute needs, rubs, etc. Best kind of meat to start on?
  2. Howdy Kile! I just joined this forum today too. I am only about 35 miles North of you, in Buffalo.
This seems like a good place to be if you're interested in learning. Lots of great info on this site!

and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions Post it
and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is because their
are so many different ways to make great Q We all have our own taste.

Start with chicken. It will take a wide temp swing and is cheap to practice on. Buy you a good

temp gauge. From their it all depends on How much you want to spend, how many you will

be cooking for, Do you want hands on or set it and forget it. What do you want to use for fuel.

    Happy smoken.
