I really like the split breasts rather than boneless. Much more moist and flavorful. Yours look great.
I feel the exact same way, but they're getting harder and harder to find. Luckily they happen to be on sale at the moment at one of the local grocery stores, so I think I'd better stock up.

Thanks for the comments. Yea they are plentyful at our grocery stores I never have an issue finding them. And actually they have butts on sale buy one get one free.

so many people you talk to are squeamish about meat on the bone....they'll say "oh , chicken breast is so bland"..and you tell them to get the split breasts ...much better flavor....and you hear " eeww , I don't like chicken on the bone....too gross" ........give me a break..... buncha closet vegetarians.

Hey guys, first time post, been lurking for over a year and for whatever reason decided to post today!  Many of the tips on this forum are top notch and always fun to try out.

One tip I had on the split breasts that I like to do (got be bone in skin on!) is to take a giant meat cleaver and chop the breasts in half.  Most of the time the breasts I get are fairly large and not only do you get a more reasonable portion size when serving but you create more surface area for smoke and marinade to penetrate!

I really use both the split breasts or boneless. I find they're both moist and flavorful. I've never had trouble finding them at the local meat market.

Yours look great !
