Hey guys. Anthony here in good ol North Carolina. 29 years old, married with a 2 year old boy. Started cooking when I convinced my mom at age 6 I could whip up a grilled ham n cheese on my own. Been manning a grill for 15 years or so and wanted change of pace. We just bought a new house and got settled in so I'm ready to jump in. I got a Weber Smokey Mountain, baby edition, 14.5. Budget was tight but wanted quality. First smoke will be this weekend, probably a batch of chicken thighs. So off to research as much as I can before I light the fire. Look forward to future discussions with you all.

Welcome aboard Anthony.  Congratulations on your new smoker.  I've got the 18.5 version of the WSM.  Like it a lot.  I did chicken for my first WSM smoke also.  It helps start the sealing process and you don't have to worry about trying to keep the temps low.

Your welcome.
