I saw the Black Friday ad for the MES 30" at bass pro a couple weeks ago and have been lurking here dreaming of what i could do with that thing. Well on thanksgiving my 7 months pregnant wife comes to me and tells me she needs my help shopping on friday. Well standing infront of bass pro at 5 am in a line that was rapidly getting bigger she tells me that i'll need to hurry to the camping section where i need to get the slip to buy my christmas present which i must promtly forget about. I'm telling you it's hard to sit here forgetting about that thing sitting in my in-laws garage.

Well i'll probably return mostly to lurk mode for the next few weeks learning what i can after which i'm sure i'll have lots of questions and definantly some qview.

Awesome gift, shame you have to wait but at least you can soak up lots of info and be ready to go on your first run, after seasoning of course.
You know...since you do need to season it you could try to get it a day early and season it so you can smoke a ham or anything else for Christmas day

Large ones that us old people with bad eyes can see.

When you uploading to Photobucket I always use the Large IMG setting, 640 x 480 it is a nice size...

That MES is a terrible machine.... don't fret over something like that, put it completely out of your mind cause its just not worth the stress.....

Did that help any? Ah, I thought not. Oh well.

In all actuality it is a perfect starting out Electric Smoker. Easy to keep the temps steady and does a good job of making thin blue smoke. By the time the big day rolls around and if you keep reading all the information you can about using it from the archives here on SMF, you will have learned how to avoid a lot of the pitfalls that can crop up. In no time at all you should be putting some awesome Q on the table.

To help while away the time, you can always shop for some cuts of meat to feed to it so as to keep it happy.

Remember to take some pic of it while its new and also pic of your first smoke in it. You only get one shot at taking pic while it is still shiny and new. Remember we all love qview. hint hint....nudge nudge...say no more.
