OK we are going on our first cub scout camp out next weekend the 31st.  I have volunteered to cook breakfast for our Den both mornings going to take lots of black iron with me.  I will take lots of pictures.  I have also been informed that the troop has an Annual  Dutch Oven Desert Cook-Off  Saturday night.  This is going to be interesting I don't know if the others realize that I have entered many a desert at BBQ contests this past year.  I am thinking Sopapilla Cheesecake.  It is the simple things in life that makes me happy and my sons smile is one of them.

Congrads to you for being a great Dad and example to your son. Remember my Dad was a Boy Scout Leader when my brothers were young.  Both brothers achieved Eagle Scout.  Dad made lots of dutch oven fried chicken and potatoes at camp outs.  Cobblers done in the dutch oven etc.  Best cooking ever.  Have fun!!!

Have fun EJ and enjoy the son time. Cheesecake sounds great.

We have a local Seafood Festival every year in our little town and we (Troop 400) cook peach cobbler in dutch ovens, we cook over 250 over the weekend. It funds our troop for the entire year. They have judging for different categories and we win either Peoples Choice or Best Non-Seafood every year.

Congratulations to your brothers for making Eagle! It is a lot of hard work, I know because my son along with 35 others have made it in our troop.
