Some pics, finally.

Here are a few pics from a smoke a week ago. I am not the best with remembering to take pics! I have been smoking at least every other weekend since I got the GOSM! And I do not think I have done a smoke yet without ABTs! Any way there is a rack of ribs in stage 2 in the foil, a 12 pound turkey, a whole mess of ABTs and a fatty just coming off for a little snack!

That looks awesome. I'm kinda with you. Not only do I forget to take pictures, I generally go by the rule that if the door is open, you're not cooking and it takes time to snap the pictures. On top of that, if the door is closed as it should be, who wants to see a big, black box puffing TBS :) Anyway, good grub there.

I will try to remember to take more pics. I did a 7 pound chicken this past week that was awesome, tried some boneless ribs that were ok but I like racks better, another fatty and of course ABT's. Next time a whole shrimp is getting added to each ABT.

No no insulation is present. It holds the low temperatures needed for smoking well with a low flame.

there is a double walled 304 stainless version available from a sister company. CFM makes the GOSM, Vermont Castings, and a couple other lines. The VC version is something like 500 dollars currently, but other than the 304 stainless double walls is identical to the Big Block.

Yes and thanks for the info, I'm looking for a GOSM gasser, and I've read around that you can start some of them with lump if you want then return to gas. Also noted that some don't go down low enough to smoke and that a adjustable regularot is required...

It seems to be a common problem. I installed a needle valve at about $10 or $12 bucks in fittings and valve cost. I have no issues at all now in any temps. There is a post here that talks about the modification with some pics.
