Well I have already done away with the smoke stack. I have also lined it on the outside with 1 inch foil back foam board as well as have it completely skinned with wood. I will have to get some more pics up. The first batch of smoked trout turned out awesome. Everyone that ate it loved them. I got my brine recipe off of here.
Now thats a good looking smoker and you say that you are going to wrap it all in wood that should be one fine looking unit.
Nice work, can't wait to see a pic of the finished project.
Looks reclycled stuff to me, let see some more pics.
I love homemade stuff.
I see in pic 2, it looks like you have your wood chunks right on the hotplate. I could be seeing that wrong. If that is the case then you will have problems with the element rheostat kicking off too soon. The heat generated from the burning wood is greater then the heat put out by the element which in turns kicks off the rheostat thus not getting enough heat. same thing happens with the chip pan right on the element.
If I am seeing it wrong in the second pic, then nevermind.
Love the build, look forward to seeing the updated pics.
NICE!! I love seeing people make something out of what most people call "junk". look forward to seeing the finished product..
